As the month of July comes to a close we wanted to point out how much fun everyone had fly fishing for king salmon in June and July at Reel Action Alaska. Guests caught many awesome kings mostly with spey rods, some used single handed and some used both! The spey fishing for kings was above average with many 30 plus pound kings being caught consistently. With our lodge location only being 1 mile from tide water and a flexible schedule guests enjoyed getting to kings early when fishing is prime! Here are some photos from this past king season. The Kanektok River has a truly spectacular fishery with all five species of salmon, rainbow trout, dolly varden, arctic char, and grayling. In the month of July you have excellent opportunities of catching the king salmon of a lifetime, chum salmon that are chrome bright, leopard rainbow trout, dolly varden, and grayling. Here are some pictures from a week long trip in July where Bob caught everything he wanted and some!
